House Guests

I want to let people in

without fear of them

taking everything they find,

Good & leaving.

I want to lounge around

In my thoughts, my feelings

to laugh with me

when I need it,

to put an arm around me,

when when I don’t

As they go, I want to hear

see you later

flow from their lips

Instead of goodbye.

      1. Actually the word in Bengali was ‘Brito’, someone who’s welcome or respected or ordained, something like that. Ma added an extra ‘a’ and made it ‘Breeta’. But I should have never looked up my name-meaning in Google…it went hilarious πŸ˜‚
